“THE LAST HALLOWEEN”

Creepy Candies is a digital painting incorporating generative AI art and prompt engineering a cacophony of concepts and visual design

This is one of my favorite pieces- it combines still life with landscape and a touch of dystopian humor, leaning into Salvatore Dali’s signature style. I would not classify this work as Surrealism, though.

“FISH TANK”

Digital Painting of a "Fish Tank" by Sage Molotov

“Fish Tank” is a digital art composition originally created (Prompt Engineered) in Midjourney 5.1. using a single prompt – “fish tank”. (Pictured on the Left side of slider) The interpretation was quite literal, as the final result is a tank shaped like a fish, or a fish made out of a tank. Either way, a fun little experiment!

As you can see, the image was created with black borders around the edges and corners, for reasons only known to the algorithm… So, in order to finish the image, I imported it into Photoshop Beta, where the edges and corners were skillfully filled in by the generative features in beta. The final image (on the right side of slider) took many, many attempts by trial and error, as is the case for this type of AI image generation (as of June2023).

“FISH TANK” is available as a 4K Phygital (Physical + Digital) NFT, numbered and signed, with certificate of authenticity, and can be printed on demand in any size you choose, in Giclee canvas print. (coming soon)

“BLONDE, BLUENETTE, REDHEAD”

“Blonde, Brunette, Redhead” is a series of three stand-alone images (created in Midjourney 5.1).
The three images were imported into Runway ML Gen-2, where I created a loop using the Frame Interpolation feature.
The loop was then imported into an Upscaler to scale to 4K, and then imported into Adobe Premiere Pro to extend the video length.

REMIX: Mr. Brainwash (“Love is the Answer”)

I know this is going to be a controversial topic. I took another artists work- literally borrowed the entire piece of art- and using #Adobe #PhotoshopBeta, I expanded the canvas to fit a 16:9 Digital frame. I then filled in the blank portions of the canvas with graphic design elements inspired by my recent relocation to Miami. Once the initial image was created, several versions of the digital collage were rendered turning on and off layers in the Photoshop composition. I added new elements to about 60% of the canvas. These versions were then imported into Runway ML (Gen-2), where Video Frame Interpolation was used to create the animation.

I consider this animation to be part of my research in experimenting with generative AI workflows. Because I used an original piece by Mr. Brainwash to create this experimental digital collage, it is definitely not for sale.

COMMISSIONED PIECES – HYBRID DIGITAL CANVAS EXPANSION

“BATMAN HERMES”

A client with an incredible fine art collection was renovating one of their residences and wanted to enjoy all of his art in one place- a newly installed 4K Smart TV. The issue was that many of the works were not a standard 16:9 aspect ratio, and would thus need to be scaled and expanded to accommodate the request.

To achieve the desired result, the original (photograph) was imported into Photoshop Beta, where the canvas was expanded to the correct aspect ratio. The Generative Fill feature provided a good backdrop on which I imported textures and images from the web, and applied effects to these layers, resulting in a Hybridized Generative Collage.

Comparing the two images, you can see how a square aspect ratio was reimagined using a matching color palate and identical artistic style.

“GALAGA”

“GALAGA” is a Hybrid Digital Canvas Expansion and a prime example of how I utilize digital collage techniques and incorporate them into generative AI workflows. The original work is a non-standard vertical format. In order to achieve the desired result, I expanded the canvas while upholding the artist’s original idea/concept while staying true to the aesthetic, style energy and mood.
